OUR MISSION

Homeschool In the Valley seeks to be a resource for the parents/teachers of homeschool and alternative education students.  We are a wide community of caregivers who have experienced insight and advice to offer to parents newly introduced to alternative education or experienced educators entering a new phase of teaching.

On our resources page you will find links to helpful information about homeschooling in general as well as information specific to the Roaring Fork Valley.

Our annual conference, Education Unbound, brings together educators, politicians, charities, businesses, extracurricular opportunities, social clubs, and more to help homeschoolers in the Roaring Fork and Colorado River Valleys give their children the best education possible.  Held in April in Carbondale, CO, Education Unbound is a wonderful resource for in-person information and networking opportunities.

THE VALLEY CO-OP

Homeschool in the Valley's purpose is separate from the Valley Co-Op.  Homeschool in the Valley is primarily a resource website for alternative education students and parents, focusing on the parents/teachers and student/family resources.  The Valley Co-Op is a group that meets in-person during the school year during school hours to provide extra-curricular activities for homeschool and other alternative education students.  There is a registration fee to be a part of the Valley Co-Op that covers student entry to all regularly scheduled activities the Valley Co-Op hosts.

If you would like to learn more about or register for the Valley Co-Op, which

meets twice a month during the school year in Carbondale, CO, click here.

REGISTRATION FOR THE 2025-26 SCHOOL YEAR WILL OPEN ON JULY 1

"I WASN'T HAPPY WITH WHERE MY KIDS WERE AT AND WE CAN'T AFFORD PRIVATE SCHOOL...BUT I WAS AT A LOSS AT WHERE TO START WITH HOMESCHOOLING.  THE OTHER MOMS AT THE VALLEY CO-OP HAVE BEEN SUCH AN ENCOURAGEMENT AND SOURCE OF INFO-I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR THEM!"
